Orienteering in Entzia (Álava)
An environment full of adventure.
You will face an orienteering challenge where you will learn how to use the compass, how to read cartographic maps and a few little tricks that will make you the fastest. A different and fun way to approach the world of Orienteering, where teamwork and strategy will be the key to winning.
In the Orienteering tests the main objective is to find certain beacons strategically hidden in the test area. These beacons contain staples and riddles that we will use to be able to go to the next beacon and leave a record on our check card that we have done so.
The professional guides of Inguru Abentura, Level 2 Mountain Sports Technicians (international qualification UIMLA), will give us the necessary explanations to learn how to orientate ourselves and be the fastest in the race.
We have more than 20 different maps designed and located in the Basque Country and Navarre to develop this activity. If necessary, we will travel to other places, we will talk about it in advance and our technical team will prepare an orienteering activity adapted to the place and the participants.
Enjoy an unforgettable day of racing in groups through forests and natural areas with Inguru Abentura.
We recommend you to do Orienteering in Urkiola as it is a paradise for following courses and distances. Open the map, take the compass, where is the north? For orienteering, it doesn’t matter where as long as you know how to interpret the compass arrow. Places like Armentia, Opakua, Pikoketa, Oro, Entzia, Urbasa… are where you can learn to find your bearings.
Anyone can do the activity. It is not necessary to have previous knowledge or to have any material. If you are an active person, a regular in the mountains, this is the experience for you to learn how to handle such an important tool as a cartographic map.
If you are thinking of an alternative way for the kids to learn how to find their way around while they play, Orienteering is a very fun activity. From 10-12 years old we believe that they are capable of interpreting simple maps created especially for them.
