The Saturio is a descent suitable for beginners in the world of canyoning.
Level: I–Beginners.
Adventure Sports: Canyoning
We start the activity in the town of Elgoibar, close to the Basque coast in the Izarraitz massif, to make a half-distance descent on one of the tributaries of the Deba river basin, the Saturio Erreka.
The advantage of this canyon is that both the approach and the return are minimal.
From the meeting point we will approach a car park to reach the start of the canyon, after a twenty minute walk. We will face 5 rappels and 3 slides.
At the beginning of the activity we find the first abseil, a waterfall of approximately 9 metres that will lead us to a large pool and then walk or swim through a stretch of pools with a small slide that will take us to the next technical difficulty of the canyon. Descent with rope of another two rappels of six and ten metres to reach the narrowest and thickest part of the canyon.
Once again there is an aquatic area with pools and short slides and a final 12-metre abseil to finish in a narrow area where the ravine continues through a waterfall that leads to the Molino de Saturio.
Once outside, on the way back, we are only 15 minutes away on a road that takes us to our vehicles.
If you want to organise a family activity or a bachelor party that is different, fun and suitable for all your friends, this is the ideal activity.
Don’t hesitate and come and discover the world of canyoning in the beautiful Saturio canyon.
